The best tennis players are once again ready to enter the finest of stages as the second Grand Slam tournament of the year awaits. Roland-Garros, played at the incredible Stade Roland Garros in Paris, is one of the true highlights in the tennis calendar and former winners include some of our most idolized players as Rafael Nadal (13), Ivan Lendl (3), Chris Evert (7) and Serena Williams (3).

Looking at this year’s line-up of players, there is no doubt that there is an intriguing tournament to look forward to. Novak Djokovic, current champion from 2021, is favorite in the men’s singles tournament but is closely followed by Carlos Alcaraz and the master of clay, Rafael Nadal, who’s the most successful player in the tournament’s history.

In the women’s singles tournament, pressure is on Iga Świątek to live up to the high expectations. The Polish won the Roland-Garros as late as in 2020 and know what it takes to go far in the tournament. Her closest competitors according to the odds before the tournament begins are Simona Halep and Paula Badosa.

Tournament Predictions

While the women’s singles is slightly more one-sided affair beforehand, the men’s singles feels nearly impossible to have a safe say about. Novak Djokovic is the favorite to win the tournament, though he is likely to face tough competition from a number of other highly believed contenders. The Greek, Stefanos Tsitsipas, stood up well against Djokovic in last year’s final and perhaps we can expect him to do something similar this year and even better. Rafael Nadal is always a threat when it comes to Roland-Garros and playing on clay. The Spaniard knows better than anyone else what it takes to win this tournament and even though his age has started to take out its right, he is still not to be excluded from any winners prediction.

The polish, Iga Świątek, is a huge favorite to bring home this year’s Roland-Garros. Having won the tournament back in 2020 and reached the quarter finals in 2021, she is a player who normally reaches far in the competition. Świątek has had great success in recent years and has literally lined up tournament trophies and completely dominated the competitions she has featured in. This year she has already won the Indian Wells, Miami Open, Stuttgart Open and the Italian Open. If anyone is to challenge Świątek for the Roland-Garros title it will take something extra. We believe this could be one of the more one-sided editions of the tournament in recent years and that Świątek continues on her fantastic winning streak.
